St John* Thibault Saunders, formerly of the Channel Islands but more recently of Scotland via Italy, is the son of was Cassilde Thibault, an Armorican witch from Calais, which makes him the first cousin of Gabrielle and Philippe Thibault. Philippe prefers not to think about that (as do most of his other Old Blood cousins) but Gabrielle has no choice; she and Saunders are allies whether they want to be or not, which is mostly not.
Saunders has been in the service of the Ministry since leaving school; they sent him to Italy, where he got into rather a lot of trouble (this seems to be mostly what Ministry employees of a certain temperament did during the 1920s) and became a very dear friend of Ercole Malaspina and Lady Dracaena Leffoy. He appears in tiferet's fic World Well Lost. After Don Malaspina fell victim to the curse that took his sanity, St John took off after him and ended up spending some time as a guest of the García family in Iberia, for which hospitality he intends to repay them in a particularly Avalonian fashion.
He currently enjoys a particular friendship with Julian-Alexander Delgardie, with whom he lives in Scotland when he is able; when in London he frequently stays with Sir Lucian Casaubon, or with Lavinia Scalara and Edward Kyteler, and he is a frequent guest of Lady Leffoy and Nicodemo Malaspina at Malfoy Manor.
